It’s very hard to focus for people with ADHD but I think when you factor in autism too, it makes some situations a bit harder. Like how with autism there are hyperfixations, and when someone is speaking we zone out because we’re not interested in what the person is saying because we only care about our hyperfixation and that’s it. There is much more overlap, but when you’re diagnosed with both, it can be hard to separate the two. In fact, I once read that ADHD could be considered part of the autism spectrum given how often they co-exist.
